You Made It.
You did it. Relax your shoulders. Take a breath.
You did it.
After a year of lesson plans, PD, eye rolls, grading, testing, speed eating, bladder holding, weird smells, inside jokes, and so so much more…you’ve made it to break.
And I know that list has its humor, but look at what you actually did. You shouldered so much this year. Whether you feel like you ended it with a win or just with your sanity, you did it.
And you know what else? You made a difference. I know it sounds cheesy, but it’s a truth you need to hear. Now, it’s going to be tempting to dismiss this, because you’re going to think of the days when things just didn’t line up, the lessons that didn’t go as well as you thought, the tough conversations, and the days when you just survived. But you had wins. Some grandiose and some small, but they matter.
This year you inspired someone. You encouraged someone. You taught someone something new.
Now, enjoy your rest. Here’s to long naps, belly laughs, endless iced lattes, and all the joy you can contain. You totally deserve it.
